How I Deal With Disappointment

Nobody likes to be told no. Every day, we have to deal with things not going our way. For me, one of the worst feelings is losing an opportunity that I worked really hard for. After all, it’s not every day that we are granted amazing opportunities that could impact our lives for the better. Whatever the situation is - losing your job, the end of a relationship, or maybe you didn’t get into the school of your dreams - you will have to cope with the feeling of disappointment in one way or another. Everyone has different coping mechanisms, and I think that it is so important to recognize how we cope with things and make the determination of whether or not it is healthy for us. When I’m feeling down, I tend to close myself off from everybody and stay in bed for days until I feel better (-5/10, would not recommend). Let’s be real, besties- life sucks sometimes! And it’s ok to feel disappointed! But we’ve got to know when to pick ourselves up and move onto something else. I’m sending virtual hugs to you babes!
